Murat Aydede

Aydede is assistant professor in the Philosophy Department, the Committee on the Conceptual Foundations of Science and the Humanities Collegiate Division at the University of Chicago. His specialization is in philosophy of mind/psychology and cognitive science. Among his particular research interests are naturalistic theories of mental content, connectionism, issues surrounding the Language of Thought Typothesis, computationalism and consciousness. He is also interested in ancient Greek philosophy, especially in Aristotle.

He received his Ph.D. degree in philosophy from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1993. He worked with Michael Devitt, Georges Rey, Ken Taylor, Brian Smith.
